Bond_solver.xls

Bond_solver.xls calculates the Yield to Maturity (YTM) and/or the Yield to Call (YTC) of a bond or preferred stock. This spreadsheet is included in financials-2005.xls.

DCF-calc.xls

This spreadsheet calculates the Intrinsic Value of a company through a Discounted Cash Flow analysis. It also calculates the Weighted Average Cost of Capital and can work the DCF calculation in reverse. That is, it takes the current stock price and figures out a range of growth scenarios that matches the stock price. This is known as the Market Implied Competitive Advantage Period. It is much more flexible than the ordinary DCF analysis because it also takes into account the time period over which the growth is to occur. This spreadsheet is included in financials-2005.xls.

financials-2005.xls

This is the main tool I use to analyze the financial condition of a company. Enter data from 10-Ks and 10-Qs and this spreadsheet will calculate many common metrics and track them quarter by quarter or year by year. By default I’ve created enough columns to start from FY 1994 through FY 2005. You can add or delete columns as necessary. Incidentally, the columns are meant to be read from left to right and you should create any new columns to the right.
